REMINDER: Class Prayer Service Saturday Morning
News flash posted Wednesday, June 4, 2008
On Saturday morning at 10:30am, there will be a class prayer service on the steps of the Science Building….right where we planted out class tree in memory of Erica Herbert and Joe Little. Since then, we have lost several more classmates including Bill Blose very recently. Although we may never stand as a class again, it is time for us to stand as a class in spirit and in honor of the friends we have lost. I am looking for volunteers to participate in the prayer service. Please show up a few minutes early if you would like to do one of the readings or general intercessions. Or, even drop me a line here
Are your kids at The Mount with you? If so, please bring them to the prayer service. Father Brian will be blessing our future – your children.

REMINDER – CLASS SOCIAL FRIDAY EVENING
NEWS FLASH POSTED MONDAY, JUNE 2, 2008
Just a reminder that our class social will begin Friday evening at 7pm @ John Paul Plaza outside the cafateria (lower level). Steve Liberace will be playing live from 7 until 8:30. Steve will stop playing at 8:30 because there is a live band performing outside on the upper level around the fountain. Our event is BYOB, so plan ahead. The social ends at 10pm.
This is our first big party of the weekend – our first chance to get together as a class. Work? Cut out early. Kids? An extra video and juice box won’t hurt while they wait alone for the sitter. Traffic? This is an emergency…go up the shoulder. Don’t miss this evening. It will be fun to see everyone as we arrive for the weekend….I can feel the excitement in the air!
IMPORTANT: The big kickoff party following our event in NOT BYOB due to the permit. We cannot take our stuff up there. Please help me out with this request. The bar will be open and beers will be flowing, so don’t panic. Make your way upsatairs and have fun. This event was crowded last year and it was fun to hang on the patio listening to the live music. If it rains, the band will be inside by the bar.

CLASS SLIDE SHOW - JUNIOR YEAR PICTURES FINALLY POSTED
news flash posted 05/07/08
The slide show seen above has finally been updated to include junior year. It’s a good thing I don’t have kids because every word in the book flew out of my mouth tonight…what a pain in the butt! Anyway, I hope you like the pictures. If you have any that you would like to include, please e-mail them to me, or simply submit to the slide show’s web site. All I ask is that you label the year they were from, so I can place them in the respective year within the show. Enjoy!

ONLINE HOUSING REGISTRATION – NOW OPEN!
The mad scramble for rooms has begun!
(news flash posted 4/10/08)
Don’t just sit there; make your room rservations for on-campus housing now!
Online reservation are now being taken as of TODAY! Reunion classes will get preferential treatment for housing only until April 30. On May 1, general reservations will be taken for all class years until housing is SOLD OUT. Get it in gear and visit the housing link (#2 Alumni Weekend On-Campus Housing) to the right. Note: When making your reservation, be sure to check the box for Bicentennial Hall. This is our class’ assigned housing location.
LIST OF ATTENDEES – WHY AM I NOT LISTED?
(news flash posted 04/10/08)
I’ve received several E-mails about this. As you may know, the alumni office is posting a list of those planning to attend reunion. The list is published on the Mount website (see link #1 “See Who’s Coming” to the right). If YOU are planning to attend, but don’t see your name there, the Mount hasn’t received your form which was mailed to you back in February. You can still RSVP and get listed on the website by dropping a note to the following E-mail address: dphillips@msmary.edu. It’s that easy.
CLASS GIFT NEWS – SPONSORED SOCIAL UP FOR GRABS!
(news flash posted 04/09/08)
I spoke with Marianne Dempsey of the Office of Annual Giving. Her office has announced that they will be sponsoring the reunion social for the class with the highest participation rate. If our class wins, the reward entails food and drink for our social on Friday evening. I ask that everyone returning for alumni weekend contribute at least $19.93, to the annual fund for our Reunion Class Gift. This will certainly make us a contender for highest class participation. You can contribute online by clicking on the #3 link (Mount St. Mary’s Annual Giving Online) to the right. I will keep you posted as far as our standings and progression – See Class Gift page.
HOUSING:
(news flash posted 03/28/08)
1. I’ve learned that the alumni office will start taking housing reservations in two weeks – that means by April 14th! Stay tuned and DO NOT delay. Rooms will go VERY quickly since an exceptional number of alumni will be returning for this Bicentennial Reunion Weekend.
2. There are two ways to reserve your room. 1) You can click on the #2 link (”Alumni Weekend On-Campus Housing”) to the right and reserve online. 2) You can mail your reservation form and check via snail mail. These forms are being mailed to your home within the next 10 days. Does The Mount have your correct address? If not, you better complete an online address update form by clicking on the #4 link (”Alumni Change of Address Form Online”) to the right.
3. Where are we staying? Our class has been assigned Bicentennial Hall. This is the brand new dorm that is located across the street from Sheridan….where the parking lot was. This dorm is climate-controlled and very similar to the suites. This dorm was only used for Spring semester 2008, so it is practically new. The students from Bradley Hall were moved here, so I highly doubt that much beer has been spilled here yet…know what I mean? If you do not want to be in Bicentennial Hall, you have another option. You can be closer to The Quad and stay in Sheridan. To do so, you must specify on your reservation that you would like to be in Sheridan; NOT Bicentennial Hall. Sorry, the apartments are for classes including and preceding 1989.

Steve Liberace to Play LIVE at Our Class Social Friday Night!
(news flash posted 03/28/08)
Looks like we have some great news! Steve has agreed to play at our class social Friday night. Remember, the social is our big “Welcome Kickoff” and begins at 7pm on the outside lower level of Patriot Hall (um, yeah…the old SUB) Afterwords, head upstairs to the Mount Cafe Bar for more live music and all the other classes that are back for reunion.
